Leviticus 19:2 “Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the LORD your God am holy.” I Peter 1:16 “Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.” The very clear character of God in the Scriptures is that He is completely holy. A.W. Tozer states: “God’s holiness is not simply the best we know infinitely bettered. We know nothing like the divine holiness. It stands apart, unique, unapproachable, incomprehensible and unattainable…Holy is the way God is. To be holy He does not conform to a standard. He is that standard.” The Christian understands that we have received the righteousness of Christ. Consequently, we must be living out the personality of our holy God. Duncan Campbell said, “A God-sent Revival must ever be related to holiness” Leonard Ravenhill states: “The normal Christian life is holiness, anything less is sickness.” Robert Murray McCheyene said, “A holy man is an awful weapon in the hands of God.” The challenge for the Christian is to consider the thought that my conduct is to depict the character of God. The question: Would God do what you do? Would God go to the places you go? Would God watch what you watch?
