Psalm 7:17 “I will praise the LORD according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the LORD most high.” Harry Ironside said, “We would worry less if we praised more. Thanksgiving is the enemy of discontent and dissatisfaction.” This time of the year is a great time to reflect on the goodness of our God. It is through the grace of God that we are saved. The wickedness of this world cannot defeat us because:
Romans 8:37 “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” It is for sure that we will face trials and difficulties in this world. However, we have a God who loves us and who will never leaves. One hundred thirty-eight times we read the phrase: “Praise ye the Lord” in the Bible. Jack Hyles said, “Happiness is untested delight. Joy is delight tested.” George Whitefield stated, “I was delivered from the burden that had so heavily suppressed me. The spirit of mourning was taken from me, and I knew what it was to truly rejoice in God my Savior.” This Thanksgiving Day, let’s remember that we can rejoice in the Lord. Let’s be thankful that we can be satisfied through our faith in Jesus Christ. Psalm 34:8 “O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”
