Abraham Lincoln said, “Democracy is the government of the people, by the people, for the people.” It would seem that today’s “political correctness” has forgotten that the government is of the people. It has been said, “Liberty is the right to choose. Freedom is the result of the right choice.” As we go down the path of making bad choices, we are watching a government of the people become the government of the politician who continues to regulate and remove our freedoms. George Washington said, “The preservation of the sacred fire of liberty and the destiny of the republican model of government are justly considered…deeply, …finally, staked on the experiment entrusted to the hands of the American people.” Every American has the responsibility to be informed and involved in the pursuit and maintenance of freedom. John F. Kennedy said, “Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, to assure the survival and success of liberty.” Benjamin Franklin said, “Those who desire to give up freedom in order to gain security will not have, nor do they deserve, either one.” Fourth of July is a day of celebrating freedom. It is time for us to once again stand for what is right. Lift up the Word of God and enjoy the liberty that comes through faith in Jesus Christ. Galatians 5:1 “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.”
