Proverbs 15:1,2

“A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.  The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright; but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.”

Ephesians 5:31,32

Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”  Yet, our speech betrays us, condemns us, exposes us, and destroys us.  When Jesus was reviled, “… but he answered nothing.” – Mark 15:3 – Let us follow Paul’s admonition in

Colossians 4:6

“Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.”

Proverbs 16:23

“The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips.”

Proverbs 16:24

“Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.”
