Hebrews 12:2 “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” There is a great need for father’s to raise their sons to be men. It is very evident that the Scriptures teach us that our focus and example is Jesus Christ. However, there is a great principle set forth in regards to the impact of a father’s life on his son. Dad’s must realize that their children are looking to them as a model or example. It is for certain the father’s actions and reactions to life situations sets the course for the children to follow.  Historically, fathers have fulfilled four responsibilities in the home: (1) the family provider; (2) the leader of the clan; (3) the protector; and (4) the spiritual leader. Yet, society is constantly attacking and reversing these roles. This only leads to confusion in the children that creates an identity crisis. Fathers, be a man that will grow boys into men. Be a husband that develops your daughters into young ladies. Remember, “The things emphasized during childhood often stay with a person throughout life even if they haven’t appeared to ‘stick’ at the time.” states Dr. James Dobson.  The Apostle Paul said in I Corinthians 16:13 “Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.” Men do not quit. The lead their families and the church in the strength of the Lord Jesus Christ.
