Jesus said in Matthew 15:11 “Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.” Our conversations reveal what is really in our heart. Proverbs 23:7 “For as he thinketh in his heart so is he…” Luke 6:45 “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.” What does your conversation reveal about you? Many people can give you facts concerning financial trends, political policy, entertainment enjoyed, sport scores, and social issues. However, who will speak forth the praises of God. What did God say to you when reading the Word of God today? Who’s life was touched by the Words of Christ that you spoke to them? How has God been glorified through you and in your family? What victories over sin can you testify about today? I Peter 2:9 “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.” We are not to be consumed with the elements of this world. We are to be filled with reality of the eternal God of heaven. Leonard Ravenhill said, “That world outside there is not waiting for a new definition of Christianity, it’s waiting for a new demonstration of Christianity.” May we strive to live a life that reveals the testimony of Jesus Christ.
