Next week will be the kickoff for Vacation Bible School. Every summer we are blessed with the opportunity to minister the Word of God to so many children during VBS. Jesus said in Mark 10:14 “Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for such is the kingdom of God.” I believe that the Christian should do all that they can to ensure sound Bible teaching for their children. However, I also believe that there should be a heart to get other children to hear the Word of God. VBS provides a platform for the children to have fun while learning about Jesus Christ. Parents need to start early in guiding their children to surrender to God’s call on their life. They also need to start early in guiding their children to live for God. This could be done through family devotions, Sunday school, Christian education, and Vacation Bible School. 2 Timothy 2:15 “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of Truth.” 1 Timothy 4:15-16 “Meditate on these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.” The greatest influence and impact on our future is a generation of true believers that stand for God. Let’s lay a firm foundation for our children to stand. Let’s instill Biblical truths that will last through their life. How will God use you to minister to the children?
