Acts 1:10,11 “And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.” The disciples had just witnessed the brutal crucifixion of Jesus Christ and His resurrection. Now they have the great privilege of watching the ascension of Jesus into heaven. What great hope would be built in their hearts. The great promise that the One who had called, trained, and blessed them would return to take them to glory. In times of great trials we may question the validity of Christ’s return. Matthew 11:2,3 “Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples, And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?” We must keep our eyes on Jesus. There is no one else to turn to. He promised to never leave us or forsake us. Our hope is that He is coming to receive us up to heaven. Titus 2:13 “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.”
