Happy Easter! This is Resurrection Sunday. It is the high day of Christian worship. The one thing makes us different from all other religions is the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Matthew 28:1-20 helps us rejoice on this great day of celebration. In verses 1,2 we see the stone rolled away. It has been said that the stone was rolled away – Not to let Jesus out; but rather to let man look in. What an overwhelming experience. Verses 3,4 remind us that those guarding the tomb “…became as dead men.” However, v.5,6 The women come to the tomb an are encouraged by the angel. They were reminded that Jesus had foretold of His resurrection. And now it has taken place as he said. Verse 7,8 The receive instruction that stirs the emotionally. The Bible says that they left with “…fear…great joy…did run…” Verses 9,10 record their personal encounter with Jesus Christ and immediately the worship Him. Yet, in the midst of great joy, there are those that will deny the truth. v.11-15 When Jesus meets with His disciples, He reveals His Great Commission. It is met with a mixed response – v.16,17 – Faith and Doubting. There is a motivated response acknowledging the power of God. – v.18 And a very meaningful response by identifying with Christ through baptism.  – v.19 Finally a molding response as we teach on disciple others in their walk with God. – v.20
