Psalm 122:1 “I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.” Isaiah 2:3 “And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.” Both David and Isaiah understood the life changing power of the Word of God. What a privilege and a joy to be able to come together to worship our God and learn of His ways. The challenges we face each day can be overcome through an understanding of the principles given to us by God. Every area of life is developed and strengthen through systematic application of the Scriptures. Jerry Bridges states: “Our duty is found in the revealed will of God in the Scriptures. Our trust must be in the sovereign will of God as He works in the ordinary circumstances of our daily lives for our good and His glory.” Hudson Taylor said, “God uses men who are weak and feeble enough to lean on him.” William Cary, pioneer missionary to India states: “To know the will of God, we need an open Bible and an open map.” He went on to say, “Is not the commission of our Lord still binding upon us? Can we not do more than now we are doing?” Real joy in life comes as we fulfill commands and will of God. Hebrews 10:22 “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith…” What a blessing it will be when we can gather to worship at the church building again.
