Proverbs 10:5 “He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest
is a son that causeth shame.” There is a great danger entering into the summer months thinking only of vacations and ease of living. This type of mind set could lead us to loose our zeal for the Lord over the summer. We all know that entertainment and relaxation are good and enjoyable. However, they can rob us of continuing to grow a mature in our walk with God. Colossians 1:10 “That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God.” A great challenge is given to us in I Thessalonians 2:12 “That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.” Don’t let the lazy days of summer stop you from working for the Lord. Don’t let the negligence of others cause you to ignore your worship of God. Also, remember that the summer is a great time to go door to door soulwinning. As we enjoy the warmth and brightness of the summer sun, let’s share the glory of the Eternal Son of God. Ephesians 4:17 “This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind.” May we experience a great move of God as we seek to glorify His name this summer.
