Matthew 28:5-7 “And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead…” Easter marks a day of great victory for the Christian. It is a day of celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the grave. Hallelujah, He arose! The Apostle Paul proclaims that: I Corinthians 15:14,21,22 “And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain…But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.” Our confidence in the resurrection of the dead is completely dependant upon the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Many religions have their dead gods and dead founders. However, the Christian has a living Saviour and lively hope. The disciples were fearful until they meet the resurrected Saviour. We have no need for fear because that same Jesus abides with us; strengthens us, and will one day come for us. Jesus said, “Behold, I come quickly, and my rewards is with me, to give to every man according as his work shall be.” John responded, “Even so come Lord, Jesus.” And I say, “Amen!”
