John 1:6-8 “There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.” As we enter into this new year, let’s remember that God has sent us to bear witness of the true light. John was the forerunner of Jesus Christ. He was sent to prepare the way of the Lord. I believe that we can be a real influence in preparing others to believe on the Lord. This world is getting darker and more corrupt. But, the light of Jesus Christ can change everything in a persons life. Despair is replaced with hope. Worthlessness is replaced with real value. Loneliness is replaced with comfort. Separation is replaced with acceptance. And sadness is replaced with real joy. Jesus said in Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Start each day praying for the opportunity to be a blessing to others. Live each day with the reality that Jesus Christ is with you. Finish each day with thanksgiving and praise to our God.
