Psalm 85:6 “Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?” Habakkuk 3:2 “O LORD, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.” Evangelist Tom Palmer said, “Revival is a supernatural work of God as the Spirit of God uses the Word of God to turn the hearts of the people of God back to God Himself, all for the glory of God.” Andrew Murray states: “A true revival means nothing less than a revolution, casting out the spirit of worldliness, making God’s love triumph in the heart.” The condemnation on the church of Laodicea in the book of Revelation was due their lukewarmness. They had developed a spirit of indifference and complacency. The solution to this great travesty was simple. Revelation 3:19 “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.” A.W. Tozer defined revival as: “…that which changes the moral climate of a community.” A.J. Gossip said, “In revival, people are awed and solemnized; they meet the Almighty face to face; the hush of eternal things drowns the noises of earth and soaks into the soul.” We often say that America needs revival or the church needs revival. However, revival will not come until we are willing to say, “I need revival!” Psalm 85:6 “Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?”
