Jeremiah 7:3,4a “Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place. Trust ye not in lying words.” Jeremiah prophesied and warned of the destruction of Jerusalem. His message was convicting and was aggressively rejected.  Jeremiah suffered severe persecution; yet, he would be faithful to speak forth the Word of God.  However his heart would be broke because of the condition of his people. Jeremiah 9:1 “Oh that my head were waters, and mine eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!” It is evident that the things that once were revered have faded away.  Morals are decaying away.  And God’s blessings seem to be far removed.  However, the Christian has a message of hope.  We must be the voice that cries out with great compassion to bring our nation back to Jesus Christ.  Revival starts with one person, one family, and one church. Psalm 85:6 “Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?”  Jeremiah’s message was for the people to change their actions and to listen to truth.  May we be faithful to sharing the truths of God’s Word so that it may bring about real changes that are Christ honoring.
