Ephesians 6:4 “And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” Malachi 4:5,6 “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.” As we continue to face the demise of the home in America, we must strive to establish strong Christian homes. There must be this turning of the hearts of the fathers to their children. Also, there must be a willingness for the children to love, honor, and obey their fathers. Ephesians 6:10 “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.” If this ever going to take place, it will be the result of us being strengthened in the power of God. God’s grace is always sufficient. It is easy to fulfill our roles in the home if we first surrender ourselves unto the Lord. The great hymn, Rise Up Oh Men of God: “Rise up, O men of God! The church for you doth wait, her strength unequal to her task; rise up, and make her great! Lift high the cross of Christ! Tread where his feet have trod. As brothers of the Son of Man, rise up, O men of God!
